From March 1, 2026, Georgia will introduce a mandatory work permit system for most foreign nationals, replacing the current policy that allows employment without a dedicated permit. Employers must apply on behalf of foreign workers, with processing times of up to 30 days. Certain groups, such as permanent residents and recognised refugees, will be exempt. A transition period runs until January 1, 2027. Non-compliance will result in fines for both foreign workers and employers.< a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/education/news/new-work-permit-rules-in-georgia-from-2026-what-foreign-professionals-should-expect/articleshow/123284108.cms">READ MORE
