University of Louisiana at Lafayette announces layoff of 51 staff to reduce $25M recurring deficit


The University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL) has cut 51 positions and vacated 19 others to reduce a $25 million structural budget deficit. Interim President Jaimie Hebert confirmed layoffs affected multiple divisions, including civil service and non-civil service employees. Offices restructured include Communications and Marketing and Auxiliary Services, while Sustainability was closed.
